Paula Richards, partner/design director

Prior to striking out on her own and founding what would eventually become Perna Design & Advertising, Paula graduated from the University of Indianapolis. Afterwards, she worked for several small and mid-sized design firms as a graphic designer and art director, honing her design and marketing skills. Along the way, she not only managed all aspects of the design process, but also other designer's work as well.

Paula has helped brand materials for a wide range of clients including the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, U.S. Shoe, the Sierra Club, Bryant Day & Night, and Florida Regional Hospital. Her creativity has been honored with local and regional Addy awards, but also by her client’s, including the Sierra Club’s Outstanding Newsletter Award judged on content, creativity and overall cost-efficiency.

Paula’s role as Design Director leads her to be highly scrutinizing in all creative aspects of the business. She promotes and monitors quality standards set for the firm and ensures that the client’s brand image is developed and maintained in all work produced.

Her eye for detail and color, plus her ability to quickly transform a client’s vision into effectively branded materials has served her well during her 20+ year career. She is affectionally known throughout the office as the “logo queen.”
