Doug Richards, partner/creative director
A graduate of Ball State University, Doug brings a wide range of design and advertising experience to his position as Creative Director of Perna, and has been involved with all aspects of the creative process.
Doug began his career on the corporate side of advertising, working for a large eyewear company where he was responsible for conceptualizing, art directing, and writing print and television campaigns, as well as designing product packaging and point of sale materials. From there he moved to the agency side and held art director positions for two mid-size marketing firms for several years, working on accounts such as Firestone Industrial Products, Carrier Corporation, and Ball Corporation before advancing to become Creative Director at a local advertising agency. He joined Perna in 1999.
His work has garnered industry awards from the Art Director's Club of Indianapolis, local and district Addys, and a Golden Web Award.
As Creative Director, Doug helps set the strategic tone for much of the agency’s work to ensure that it will innovatively yet effectively meet the client’s goals. Doug’s abilities as a big picture strategic thinker, designer, copywriter, and resident Photoshop guru adds to this firm’s repertoire of capabilities and services.
